Undoubtedly, it could cost them a round win, which easily could result in an eco-round. Here, we are going to remember all the CS2 Cache callouts that could be helpful for both veterans and newcomers. Let’s explore the locations of Chornobyl along with regions, callout usage in-game, and common mistakes within a few minutes. Prepare yourself to win the next match without delay.

Overview of Cache (Map Background & Layout)

Cache was first introduced in Counter-Strike: Source in 2011. The map was created by Sal “Volcano” Garozzo and later refined by FMPONE for CS:GO in 2013. For many years, it was a part of the Active Duty map pool and a popular option on the pro scene. Still, in 2019, Valve removed it until we finally met it on April 29, 2026.

But what is the reason for the popularity of Cache in the first place? In fact, the reason lies in the simplicity of a third-lane map. In other words, just two sites and a midline. No drastic verticality or complex multi-level structures. Just a flat (mostly) territory with an industrial design. Overall, it is a map, created by a player, for other players.

Additionally, we shouldn’t ignore the map’s background. As you might know, Cache is based on the abandoned city of Pripyat, Ukraine. The location is the industrial area that surrounds the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. In fact, Valve has added many easter eggs to the updated map using a new engine. Among them are the memorial plaque behind T Spawn, old Soviet-era dolls, a bus station building with bus schedules on CT Spawn, an abandoned hotel Polissya, and even a World Cup 1990 (USSR edition) poster in Checkers near Vents.

Still, let’s go back to our main topic, which is Cache callouts.

How to Use Callouts — Best Practices

And first of all, we need to understand exactly how to use Cache callouts in CS2 to make them effective. In truth, it is mostly the same as on other maps. Since the map is designed for quick rotations and brutal fights, it requires fast, specific communication. As a result, it could improve your team’s coordination and understanding of where the next opponent might be.

Here, we provide a list of possible examples that could be effective during the game:

  • One Headhost, low HP.
  • Two Mid, one White Box, one pushing Vents.
  • Behind you, Garage.
  • A Site, smoke, and flashes.
  • Highway, AWP.
  • He’s rotating A Main.

In the end, if you are already dead and have said one of the possible Cache callouts above, don’t continue using a mic without a real need. Let your teammates listen to any steps and utility usage to react properly.

Let’s check these regions with the visual examples.

Callouts for Cache A Site

As you can see, A Site includes several Cache callouts in CS2. The most basic among them are A Default, Highway, Balcony, A Main, Forklift, Elektro, and Squeaky. At the same time, it could be helpful to know and use the other map callouts. It includes NBK, Quad, and Shroud.

Callouts for Cache B Site

The Cache callouts on B Site include several positions. Undoubtedly, every player should know the location of B Main, B Default, Heaven, Checkers, and Hell. Still, there are other callouts that can help your team to win on this map. For example, it could be crucial to mention Headshot (Generator), not just B Site or B Default. No less important is naming New Boxes, B Main Boxes, or Back Checkers.

Mid Callouts

The Mid callouts are the easiest among the others. For Ts, the basic location is Garage, which simply connects both A Site and B Site. By using Boost, the attackers can check CT Connector and White Box. For CTs, it could be useful to call Roof and Vents, since it allows your teammates on B Site to be ready for guests in Checkers.

Other Important Cache Callouts

Of course, there are some Cache callouts that could be no less important. For example, it includes CT Spawn and CT Halls, which are easier to call when an opponent is not exactly in Hell near B Site, but further away. The same applies to T Spawn. Also, Truck and Dumpster (B Connector) are commonly used for site rotations.

Callout Usage in Game Scenarios

As with other CS2 maps, there are three most common scenarios. It includes defending one of the sites with or without controlling Mid. Let’s explore all of them below.

Imagine you see an opponent on Mid, near White Box, while you are staying on A Site. Your job is to tell your team about it, like “One Mid, entering CT Connector.” Or, you might see a couple of opponents on A Main rushing A Site while using utilities. In that case, say “Two low HP rushing A Site from A Main.” Another example is “Smoke from A Main, possibly Squeaky” after you have heard steps in the named location.

Another scenario is to control Mid. By positioning in CT Connector, you can get a lot of information, which includes opponents’ attacks and rotations. The possible callouts are:

  • Boost, AWP.
  • One going Vents.
  • Two Garage, low HP.
  • The bomb carrier is going to A Site.

No less important to mention are practical callouts on B Site. Of course, the initial attack simply includes B Main and Vents. In post-planted scenarios, it is important to call the exact locations of the opponents. For example, you shouldn’t say “B Site,” but specifically “One Headshot, low HP.” It could also be “One Checkers, one B Default.” In that case, your teammates will expect to see the opponents in the mentioned positions, which could help them aim more effectively.

Common Mistakes, Ambiguous Callouts & Conflicts

The main mistake players make when using Cache callouts is being too general. As you can notice in our examples above, your goal is to share as much information as possible. It shouldn’t be “He was at A Default, but, I guess, he can wait for you on A Main” or “He is on Checkers, maybe low HP, I don’t know, I’ve literally thrown a grenade on him.” Make it simpler, such as “Forklift, corner.”

No less exciting is learning Mirage callouts. While the map is one of the most popular in the game, newcomers might get lost in the Moroccan-style architecture.

To Sum Up

Knowing CS2 Cache callouts is the exact difference between a coordinated win and chaotic moves without even understanding where you should go. Undoubtedly, it also includes the use of them to give your teammates the complete picture of opponents’ moves. Still, the great news is that Cache is one of the easiest maps with a fast pace. As a result, you can learn all the callouts within a few matches without spending hours learning the exact position.
