A majority of people who play CS2 don’t own any Patches. Why? Well, because they aren’t for the faint of heart. They aren’t to be admired by the wearer. In fact, they aren’t something that really stands out in the game.
Patches are for the flex of standing over your fragged opponent so the last thing they see is that you’re so invested into CS2 that you’re willing to drop cash on something you, yourself, won’t be able to appreciate while playing.
Kick back and relax while we deep dive into what CS2 patches are, how they work, and count down the top 3 patches available in every single Patch Collection. Here. We. Go!

What Are CS2/CS:GO Patches?
Patches were introduced in early 2020 and can be thought about as being similar to stickers. But, instead of being for a weapon, they are for your agent. There are a lot of players who say that cs patches are useless. Why? Because the player who buys them doesn’t get to see them in-game at all, not even a glimpse, not a corner, nothing. While that does carry some weight. We can’t help but argue that patches aren’t for looking at. They are for showing off. There is a difference. Let’s take a look at how cs patches work.
How do Patches Work in CS2?
Patches are placed on your agent in 1 of 3 locations; on the front, back, or on your agent’s shoulder. Like weapons skins, cs patches come in different rarities:
- Blue – High Grade
- Purple – Remarkable
- Purple – Gold
- Pink – Exotic
Basically, you buy a patch, slap it on your agent, and let everyone you frag admire it as you stand over them. The wildest part is not that people buy cosmetics that they can’t see. Nope. The wildest part is the price that some of these patches can reach. Come along as we list the must-have patches in each collection.
Top CS2 Patch Collections and Their Featured Patches
Currently, there are 7 Patch Collections available in CS2. The number of patches in each collection ranges from 11 to 21 Patches. The Patch prizes range from almost free to “should I really pay that much for something I’ll never see?” We aren’t joking. Some patches get very expensive. How expensive? Keep reading and you’ll soon find out. By the way, if you’re thinking about picking up a patch, be sure to check out Hellcase. They have everything you need.
So, here’s our list of every Patch Collection from “ok” to “best”. And within each collection, we’re picking our favorite 3 patches. If you’re reading this, you may already own a few.

Where Can I Get Patches?
You can get your hands on a patch in several different ways:
- Patch packs (purchased in-game or from the market)
- Steam Community market (buying or selling cs2 agent patches)
- In-Game promotions (like Half-Life: Alyx)
- Operation rewards (earned through operation missions)
- Player-to-Player trading (using Steam’s trade system)
- Event drops (associated with special tournaments)
- Giveaways (from content creators or community events)
- Heading over to Hellcase to buy your favorite
Conclusion
Though all patches CS2 aren’t seen by the person who wears them, they are a cool but debatable addition to CS. Since some of the patches cost less than a dollar, we don’t see a reason not to slap one on your favorite agent.
FAQ
You can put up to 4 patches on a single agent at a time. One on the front and back and one on each shoulder.
The value of each patch is determined by the players who buy and sell them. Most of the time this is dictated by the demand and scarcity of a patch.
Not as often as weapon skins. The last pack for all patches cs2 was released near the end of 2021. This may be because players don’t see a real value in them. Only Valve can say for sure.
