All Info About HellCup

Let’s start by getting to know the tournament itself, as more and more new players join the CS2 community every day, and for some, this tournament may be new.

HellCup 11 is an online CS2 tournament held in the European region. The tournament’s main sponsor is Hellcase, but ordinary users can also join the prize pool by opening a special crowdfunding case.

Any user can open a special case dedicated to the tournament, and they will not only get a cool skin but also add the amount from the case value to the tournament prize pool. The annual prize pool of the tournament is $45,000, and additional funds from the case vary in amount annually.

Twenty-four teams participate in the tournament, but most importantly, the tournament has an open qualification, and many beginner teams can compete and test their strength against professional teams.

Group Stage

Finally, let’s move on to the tournament itself and the teams. In the Group Stage of the tournament, 16 teams were divided into four groups of 4 teams each, where they played matches based on the results of which the team qualified for the Playoff Stage.

Group A

Based on the results of the matches in the Group A, teams 500 and OG were able to defeat their opponents and advance to the main part of the tournament – Playoffs.

TeamScore
5002:0
OG2:1
Wu-Tang Clan1:2
Zero Tenacity0:2

It’s a pity that Zero Tenacity and Wu-Tang Clan couldn’t overcome their opponents because they showed a good result, interesting tactics, and their own unique style of play.

Group B

In Group B, the situation was much more tense compared to Group A. After all, there were two “academy” teams here at once. These are teams that are completely under the wing of their older brother, for example, the well-known NAVI roster, but this organization also has another team, NAVI Junior. Young players who can later become part of the well-known NAVI train in this team itself.

It was these two teams that met in this group. NAVI Junior is the younger roster of NAVI, and Spirit Academy is the younger roster of Team Spirit. It was interesting to watch which of these young talents plays better.

NAVI Junior2:0
Spirit Academy2:1
Rare Atom1:2
CYBERSHOKE Esports0:2

The group competition was fierce, and the most interesting thing was how NAVI Junior played. They showed an incredible level and a difference in the game. It was immediately clear that these guys would definitely be in the finals.

Group C

The most interesting was Group C, and especially Into The Breach stood out. They played the most rounds of all groups and still managed to emerge victorious.

If you are a fan or if you just like Into The Breach, be sure to watch the Group Stage.

Group D

It’s strange, but for some reason, most viewers favored 9INE in this group and thought they would take first place in Group D with a 2:0 score. However, SINNERS Esports showed a great, thoughtful game, clear coordination, and simply completely defeated their opponents.

Hellcup 11 Playoffs

We’re finally moving on to the most exciting part of the tournament: Playoffs. The seeded teams faced off against those who had advanced from the Group Stage in a series of matches to determine who would move on to the next round.

Round 1

In Round 1, 16 teams were divided among themselves. The teams played best-of-three series, where the winner advanced and the loser was eliminated from the tournament. As a result of the first group stage, a total of eight teams advanced to the Quarterfinals.

Round 1
Nemiga Gaming vs Into The Breach2:0
PARIVISION vs SINNERS2:1
Monte vs Spirit.A2:0
Passion UA vs 5001:2
BetBoom vs OG0:2
AMKAL vs NAVI Jr.1:2
Aurora vs 9INE2:1
9Pandas vs Insilio2:1

Quarterfinals

Only four matches were in the Quarterfinal, but it’s impossible to describe how bright they were. We definitely recommend watching the match between Monte and 500. There was everything: excitement for the team, anxiety about the next rounds, disappointment, and, again, joy from unexpected results.

However, let’s take a closer look at the matches themselves.

Nemiga Gaming vs PARIVISION – this was not a difficult match for Nemiga Gaming, as the opponent, to be honest, was significantly weaker than them, and they were able to easily defeat their opponent with a 2:0 score (Mirage 13:5, Anubis 13:6).

Monte vs 500 – as we have already written above, this match was full of unexpected moments and difficult decisions, which is why this match was so interesting because teams of equal strength competed in it. But whether it was fate, or perhaps excitement, or maybe something else, Monte did not show themselves well on Mirage. 500 won with a 2:1 score.

OG vs NAVI Junior – are there any real OG fans here? Then you’d better not read this! Next, we’ll tell you about the crushing defeat of OG. On the first map, which OG picked, NAVI simply crushed them with a 13:4 score, and after that, OG couldn’t recover. They probably lost their spirit, and although they fought for the second map, it was clear that something was missing.

Aurora Gaming vs 9Pandas – the last match of the Quarterfinals, turned out to be quite interesting, as in the situation with Monte and 500, and in Aurora Gaming vs 9Pandas it turned out that two teams of equal strength met, and showed not some kind of bullying over the opponent, but a real interesting game of a high level.

But as in all games, there is a winner and a loser. In this meeting, 9Pandas lost a little bit of their strength, although they were very close to victory. Aurora Gaming won this meeting with a 2:1 score.

Semifinals

In the Semifinals, four teams met: Nemiga Gaming, 500, NAVI Junior, and Aurora Gaming. They competed against each other for the chance to reach the Grand Final and show what they were truly capable of.

Nemiga Gaming vs 500

The first Semifinal match took place between Nemiga Gaming and 500. The teams were getting used to each other for a long time and didn’t show anything super interesting or unconventional. However, on the second map, Mirage, a real fight began. On the second map, 500 managed to fight back against their opponent and tie the score 1:1.

After that, they moved on to the decisive map, and we expected an interesting fight, but we saw just a beating. Nemiga Gaming seemed to be just playing against children. They completely destroyed 500 in every round and with a 13:0 score (flawless victory).

NAVI Junior vs Aurora Gaming

Fortunately, both NAVI Junior and Aurora Gaming showed a good game, so it didn’t last three maps, but this match was interesting because it was on the edge every time, and it was not clear until the end who would actually win this duel. However, NAVI Junior turned out to be a little stronger both on the first map, Ancient, and on the second map, Mirage.

It was difficult, but nevertheless, NAVI Junior got their victory with a 2:0 score and advanced to the Grand Final.

Grand Final

In the Grand Final, the strongest teams met in a fierce battle. The tournament’s last match took place between NAVI Junior and Nemiga Gaming.

  1. NAVI Junior removed Vertigo
  2. Nemiga removed Nuke
  3. NAVI Junior picked Dust2
  4. Nemiga picked Ancient
  5. NAVI Junior removed Inferno
  6. Nemiga removed Mirage
  7. Anubis was left over

Dust II

On the first map, NAVI Junior didn’t start very successfully. They started as terrorists and, in the first round, managed to plant the bomb, but the opponent was able to defuse it and get additional funds for the victory. The first four rounds were very difficult for NAVI Junior. However, after pulling themselves together, they were still able to take the fifth round. After that, they were able to stabilize on the map and even equalize the score 4:4.

However, Nemiga Gaming then strengthened its position and managed to close the first half with a 7:5 score.

NAVI Junior were only two rounds behind, but they had the defense side, which is usually a bit easier than attacking. Thanks to their teamwork, they were able to equalize the score again to 7:7, but as always, as soon as the score is equal, one of the teams will definitely take a few rounds in a row, and so it happened. Nemiga Gaming won again in the next three rounds and reached a 10:7 score, and if you think that this confrontation should have ended there, then you are very mistaken.

NAVI Junior was able to equalize the score again to 10:10, and then it turned out that both teams played with a 12:12 score. This meant that we were waiting for overtime further.

So, NAVI Junior proved to be much stronger. We do not know how it works, but it reminds us of FaZe, who also changes over a series of overtime and shows cool results. Overall, NAVI Junior won 4 rounds and finished the map with a 16:13 score.

Ancient

After such a tense match and NAVI Junior’s first victory on their own map pick, the teams met on Ancient, which was Nemiga’s pick.

The start of the map was frantic. Playing as counter-terrorists, NAVI Junior won five rounds in a row, not giving their opponents a chance. However, in the fifth round, they made a mistake and allowed the enemy to plant the bomb. This gave the terrorists additional funds, and from that moment on, Nemiga Gaming turned up the heat!

In the sixth round, Nemiga Gaming had enough money to buy good weapons, which helped them defeat their opponents. But they didn’t stop at one victory. They won the sixth round, then the seventh, and so on. Nemiga Gaming kept winning until the first half ended. They not only tied the score but also turned it in their favor at 7:5.

The situation with NAVI Junior repeated itself for the second time. Once again, they were two rounds behind in the second half of the map. And once again, NAVI Junior won 2 rounds and leveled the score. And then, as if it were deja vu as if we had seen it all on the previous map. Thanks to teamwork, good coordination, and excellent shooting, the team once again reached a 12:12 score. And this is another set of overtime.

And you know what? The overtime rounds were a near-perfect mirror image of the previous map. NAVI Junior seemed to change again, and they easily won with a 16:14 score.

Congratulations to NAVI Junior on their hard-fought win!
