The BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023 is one of the most important tournaments in the CS:GO scene. It offers great prizes and gives teams a chance to qualify for the upcoming BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. The tournament took place from June 7 to June 11. The tournament began with the Group Stage, which featured two groups, each comprised of four participating teams.

Astralis was the second team to be eliminated from the competition. Placed in a group with Heroic and FaZe, the experts predicted their chances of advancing were slim, and unfortunately, their predictions were correct. Astralis first faced a 2:0 loss against FaZe ( Overpass 16:5, Mirage 16:6). In their subsequent match, they were defeated by Complexity with a 2:1 score (Vertigo 16:14, Ancient 14:16, and Overpass 16:14).

The Playoff Stage spanned from June 9 to June 11. On June 9, the Quarterfinals took place, followed by the Semifinals on June 10. The pinnacle of the event was the Grand Final of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023, held on June 11, where the teams competed fiercely for the coveted main prize.
Quarterfinals
The teams with a tied 1:1 score in the Group Stage met in the Quarterfinals. FaZe went up against Team Vitality, while Imperial Esports took on Complexity.
FaZe Clan vs Team Vitality
The first match of the Quarterfinals featured two strong teams who had faced each other numerous times and were well aware of each other’s strengths. Therefore, they immediately banned each other’s signature maps to gain an advantage.

Anubis

After switching sides, the situation repeated itself, and both teams kept the score close, leading to overtime. Ultimately, Vitality managed to outplay FaZe with a 19:17 score and secure the victory.
Mirage
The second map was Mirage, and the win rates for both teams were similar, with each having a 60% win rate on this map. It suggested a closely contested match.
The first half started well for Vitality as they played on the CT side. The French team showcased a strong defense, successfully thwarting most of FaZe’s attacks. The first half ended with a 9:6 score in favor of Vitality.
Despite FaZe’s picking Mirage, Vitality maintained its dominance after switching sides. They closed out the game with a convincing 16:8 victory. FaZe was eliminated from the tournament, but they received a prize of $20,000 and 500 BLAST Premier points.

Imperial vs Complexity
The match between Imperial and Complexity was quite predictable for most fans who follow the professional scene, as the teams that faced each other had a noticeable difference in their gameplay.

Vertigo
Despite having yet to play it this season, Complexity made a surprising decision by picking Vertigo as their first map. The match started with Complexity on the T side, giving them an early advantage, but Imperial managed to defuse the bomb. Despite a few successful rounds, Complexity couldn’t turn the tide. Imperial dominated the first half, leading with an 11:4 score.
However, Complexity showed resilience after switching sides. Despite Imperial’s significant advantage in the first half of the map, Complexity fought back. Ultimately, Imperial held their ground and secured a narrow victory with a 16:14 score.
Overpass
Overpass is one of the signature maps for Imperial Esports, with a 65% win rate in their recent encounters on this map, showcasing their prowess in any given situation.
Starting as terrorists, Imperial lost the first round. However, they made a strong comeback in the second round with an impressive force buy, seizing the lead on the map. They continued their dominance in the following rounds and finished the first half with a commanding score of 12:3.
With such a commanding lead, it was nearly impossible for Complexity to stage a comeback, especially on Imperial’s signature map. Imperial effortlessly closed out the second map.

The Semifinals of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023
It’s time to talk about the Semifinals of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023, which took place on June 10. There were two matchups: G2 Esports vs Team Vitality and Heroic vs Imperial Esports. The teams that won these matches would move on to the final, while the losing teams would receive $40,000 and 1200 BLAST Premier points.
G2 Esports vs Team Vitality
In the Semifinals, the first match was between Vitality and G2 Esports.

Anubis
The first map is undoubtedly one of Vitality’s signature maps. The French team boasts an 80% win rate on this map and has a strong track record of performing well. However, despite these factors, G2 Esports secured a victory on the first map with a solid 16:11 score. This result boosted G2’s confidence and made the French team reconsider their strategies.
Inferno
The next map was indeed tougher for G2 Esports. After losing the previous round, Vitality played more cautiously, making fewer mistakes and avoiding risky moves like rushing mid. These adjustments paid off as the French team scored exceptionally well in the first half, scoring 12:3. They continued their strong gameplay and closed the map with a final 16:9 score.
Nuke
The decider map was Nuke. In the first half, G2 played on the defensive side and gained a slight advantage with a score of 8:7 in their favor. The second half started strongly for Vitality, as they held their ground on defense, winning crucial rounds and ultimately emerging victorious on the third map with a 16:12 score.
Heroic vs Imperial Esports
The second match of the Semifinals featured two notable teams: Heroic, known for their consistent and impressive performance, and Imperial, who surprised everyone with their unexpectedly strong results in the tournament. Let’s see which team was able to come out on top.

Overpass
Both teams have had about ten matches on Overpass this season, with a similar win rate of around 60-65%. It was fascinating to see how things unfolded on this map. The first half was evenly played, ending with an 8:7 score favoring Heroic.
However, after switching sides, the teams took turns winning rounds, leading to a tied 13:13 score. Then Heroic successfully attacked and secured three consecutive rounds, resulting in a 16:13 victory for Heroic.
Inferno
Heroic picked Inferno, as they had an impressive 70% win rate on it in their recent matches. However, the outcome was completely different. Imperial, playing on the T side, took an early lead by winning the first five rounds. It helped them close the first half with an 8:7 score.
After switching sides, Imperial, now playing on the CT side, showcasing a fantastic performance, winning nine consecutive rounds. This dominant display led them to victory on the second map with a final 16:11 score.
Nuke
The third map of the series was Nuke. Predicting which team would come out on top was incredibly hard, as both showcased impressive gameplay. It was especially evident in the third map. Heroic took control in the first half, securing an 11:4 lead that made it nearly impossible for Imperial to stage a comeback. Any misstep could have spelled disaster.
However, fully aware of the situation in the second half, Imperial acted with great coordination and professionalism. They not only gained an advantage in multiple rounds but also managed to equalize the score at 15:15, winning eight rounds in a row and narrowly escaping elimination. But during overtime, Heroic regrouped and ultimately sealed the deal in this intense match, emerging victorious with a 19:17 score.
Grand Final of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023
The teams that battled for the top prize at the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023 were Vitality, representing France, and Heroic, representing Denmark.

Playing on Heroic’s picked map, Mirage, Vitality began on the CT side and successfully thwarted most of the attacks in the first half, securing an 8:7 lead. When Vitality switched to the T side, they showcased a decisive and fast-paced game, ultimately winning the second map with a 16:10 score.
Inferno
The decider map was Inferno. Heroic began the third map on the CT side and showcased a confident performance, finishing the first half with a lead of 8:7. After a short break and switching sides, Heroic continued to dominate round by round, playing on the T side and leaving no opportunities for the French team to secure a victory. With a final score of 16:9, Heroic emerged as the champions of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023. Congratulations!
