After almost half a year, Valve added a new case to CS2: Sealed Dead Hand Terminal. While it shares similarities with the Sealed Genesis Terminal, the latest container seems more interesting to the community. Of course, the main reason is the availability of new finishes for gloves. But what else can The Dead Hand Collection offer, and why is it so noticeable? Let’s find out in the next few minutes.

The Dead Hand Collection

On the night of March 11-12, some players might have noticed a weird reward in their CS2 Weekly Care Package. It had an empty slot, while users still could accept it. After an update of Counter-Strike 2, you can finally check the new addition to your inventory: the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal. That’s it, without any announcement Valve silently added a new collection to the game, allowing players to get it almost instantly after the release.

Weapon Skins

The Dead Hand Collection offers 17 weapon skins for different models, including AWP, AK-47, P90, Glock-19, USP-S, M4A1-S, Desert Eagle, and others. All of them were created by community designers. And the main detail that connects almost every skin in the new collection is the Asian-inspired style. We can find new shinobu (Glock-18 | Fully Tuned), ronin (USP-S | Silent Shot), crane (AK-47 | Crane Flight), and even oni (P90 | Deathgaze). No less noticeable is AWP | Queen’s Gambit, sharing a royal gold and blue along with eye-catching detailing.

Like many other CS2 collections, The Dead Hand Collection offers two Covert, three Classified, five Restricted, and seven Mil-Spec Grade rarity skins. Additionally, each of them shares the StatTrak system.

Gloves Finishes

Unlike the previous terminal, Dead Hand Terminal also offers 22 glove finishes created by Valve. The new collection contains designs for Sport Gloves, Specialist Gloves, and Driver Gloves. Similar to weapon skins, players can also find among them Asian-inspired finishes, such as Specialist Gloves | Cloud Chaser, Specialist Gloves | Big Swell, Driver Gloves | Wave Chaser, and Driver Gloves | Brocade Crane.

At the same time, there are also other styles, like dragon skin (Driver Gloves | Dragon Fists), modern design (Sport Gloves | Red Racer), and fire theme (Sport Gloves | Blaze).

Community Reaction and Market Influence

The update, full of new weapon skins and, no less important, glove finishes, instantly caught the eye of the players and content creators. Of course, the reason lies in the designs, which assure every user can find an item that suits their style and budget. At the same time, the addition of the new collection of gloves in the terminal can be a sign of a new era in case opening.

As you might have seen, Valve is actively changing its approach to opening cases to circumvent laws in different countries. With the addition of terminals, the CS2 developer fundamentally changes it without breaking the law. In other words, even with a case, players still need to pay for a skin, not for the case opening itself.

Other Update Details

The other details of the update include slight changes to two maps. First, Alpine was updated to the latest version from the Community Workshop. Second, Valve fixed a pixel gap in a door Outside Long on Dust II. Additionally, the CS2 developer changed X Box on Mid, making it easier to jump on to enter A Short.

Conclusion

While the new collection adds a classic number of weapon finishes, it also brings new glove finishes for the first time since 2020. Moreover, the addition of the terminal with Special Items may be a sign of Valve’s new policy about obtaining skins from cases. Of course, it can directly affect prices on the second market, making skins more or less affordable for players.
